filters and eq

Hi everyone,

A lot of my sounds are too low (towards the kick/bass end of the spectrum). But whenever I try to use filters to move them up the spectrum, it doesn't have much effect. Infact, the only way I can move the sound up the spectrum is to move the notation up an octave. How can I fix this problem?

By the way, I use Fruity Loops.

A sound doesn't get higher just because you filter the lows. If you want it higher, you would have to pitch it.

So does this mean you have to move it up an octave?

An octave is a bit drastic. Move them up a semitone at a time till it sounds right.
