Thumbs up W I M B L E D O N ' 2 0 0 6 '

Yeah I know it is early to talk about it, but i already look forward seeing the tournament, seeing Roger Federer win again !(?). I am sure he can't loose on grass, not yet..!

He is on the way to beat the 41 wins on grass in a row of Bjorn Borg (more impressive though because the Swedish player only played Wimbledon whereas Federer plays Halle too).

The disappoinment of Roland Garros is over.. !

Federer without even sweating... only Ljubicic or whatever it's spelt might have a chance at beating him on grass.

I am not sure Ljubicic is the most dangerous, he never had good results on grass, but who knows....
Richard Gasquet played very well against Federer few days ago, he was about to beat him, as well as Oliver Rochus... I rely on Gasquet to play a good Wimbledon.

And I hope Federer will have the time to rest because he looks tired now...

So Federer won his fourth title at the Gerry Weber Open in Halle. He holds now with Bjorn Borg the record for most consecutive wins on grass, with 41 victories.

Hewitt seems on form too, he just won Queen's. Can't wait for Wimbledon

i miss rafter, he was my favorite tennis player. mostly because he was a badass but seemed like a real nice guy. and he was a serve and volleyer.
so much fun to see a good serve and volleyer and a good baseliner duel against each other. (for example agassi vs. sampras)

i'm not sure about wimbledon this year. there aren't anymore serve and volleyers that are good enough to beat people like federer...

Rafter was amazing, but I didn't like when he used to beat Sampras
Today this kind of player are very rare, you have Taylor Dent who is an amazing server vollyer, but he will not be able to play Wimbledon because of an injury.
Then you have Max Mirnyi too who has a very powerful serve and a very good volley.
You have Ivo Karlovic too, the Croatian giant who can win a game in 1 minute thanks to his terrific serve.
But it seems that the server volleyer age is over now. And the grass is not as fast as it used to be some years ago.

That's correct, just want to add that those victories from BB were consecutive wimbledon games, unlike Federers. Still a great achievement though.

Roger Federer will be opposed to the french player Richard Gasquet in the 1st round. Tough. And i am disappointed because it's not sure but probable that Federer wins, and i was pretty enthusiastic about the french player in this 2006 Wimbledon.
