basically i currently use an m-audio audiophile 192 soundcard but recently got a tascam us-428 off ebay for a very good price.

but my question is this which do i keep and use? i cant decide.

the soundcard boasts balanced outs etc... and is a solid soundcard. the tascam has the ability to do alot more but lacks balanced outputs and is usb powered so culd have issues with latency.

i was also think of using the soundcard for audio and just use the tascam as a controller because one of my main reasons for getting it was because it was compatible across lots of software and is even one of the few supported controllers on fl studio.

BUT...... i dont know if it is possible to use it as a puremidi controller without its audio functions. im pretty certain u can do that with the usb but possibly by just using the midi ports i dunno? so if sum1 culd help me with that it wuld be much appreciated.

so if anyone has any experience on the tascam PLEASE let me kno wot its like and wot u make of it. decisions drive me up the wall!
