I do agree with ya and i don't =p..
the sound of trance has moved away from the dream / epic trance genre and moved upbeat, with stronger basslines, and less "no bassline bits in the track"..
there aren't many tracks which I would fully consider to be "dream or epic trance" this year so far.. nor in the latter half of 2000.
the tendency for uplifting but hard tracks are filling vinyl boxes..
stuff on Tsunami and ITWT seem to be hitting that region.. released from late 2000 - now
including
Tony Walker - Field of Joy
THreesome - Gobi
and Stargate - Beams of Light
have showed that to an extent.
Dream Trance in 2001? I don't think it'll happen.. coz the production of tracks and the DJing go hand in hand.. djs don't play dream tracks, not much produced. Alternatively, dream trance not produced, no djs can play it.. =p
the two acts who i can think of who suffices the 'dream trance' genre TO ME.. is Airscape and Rank 1..
u might disagree.. but n e wayz..
the trance scene moves as a trend.. 1997 was the likes of robert miles, 1998 was oakenfold-esque, 1999 was pvd's glory and also the glory of commercial trance *cough cough*, 2000 tended towards a more 'underground sound' whilst maintaining dreamy elements, and 2001 has been tending towards hard trance.. or solid basslines
thats all i have to say..
