Cool Edit 2000 or Cool Edit Pro ... that's at least what I'm using for audio editing and so far it seems to be working really good ...

Thankx 4 the reply SkyWarp
I never try this soft coz I never been interested in editing music. But I supossed this is a very good program.
I will be able to do the 2 things ?
Thankx

Correct me If I am wrong. The steps for making a radio rips are this ones:
1> Record with total recorder.
2> Normalize the wav file.
3> Fade in & out the wav file.
4> Encode to mp3 with Razor Lame

I use Soundforge for fading in & fading out...Oh yeah you can just dl some trial version and crack it... (for evaluation purpose only and this was only for you to learn and not meant to be used)

alternative method..
have a hifi with a MD deck..
MD decks have 10 seconds memory lapse..
so if u hear a track, u have 10 seconds to hit rec..
then u record from MD to musicmatch as mp3.
thats how i do it =p

1> Record with total recorder.

Yes, although you can skip TotalRecorder alltogether and record straight with CoolEdit ... since it records on harddisk instead of memory.

2> Normalize the wav file.

Yup. (be sure to normalize to 98% instead of 100%)

3> Fade in & out the wav file.

Yup.

4> Encode to mp3 with Razor Lame

Hmm, I don't know if you can do it straight from CoolEdit, but you can always save the .wav and encode it.
