I tried the search but u guys know how it is.. anyway, i did a mashup on ableton and id like to export it into a .wav file or an mp3.. i tried rendering but only the first second gets exported into the file (not sure if rendering is the thing to do).. but i would like to know how to export mashup since i dont know what to do after pressing the record button

First select all, i.e. click on something on the arrange page and then press ctrl A (or comm a if apple), then select render to disk.
recording is for registering your live "jamming". If you render to file, make sure you set the loop points to contain the whole recorded arrangement.

Yes in the arrangement view select the part you want rendered with the brackets. Click the render button and it will render everything selected in the brackets.

actually I think the best way is to select the loop (start on start and end where your reverbs, echoes, delays etc. fade off) this way you can have your ending natural and not like immediate cut...when you click on the top part of the "loop marker" it selects all what's between the loop markers...
