Just woke up not too long ago...Round 3 killed me heh. How do I manage to do these things sober completly worries me. Anyhoo...
Karina and I were to anxious to wait around until Sonic opened, so we decided to head out to Lily's for some predrinking. Nice intimate place, and when they mentioned and brought us to a downstairs area I was like WTF? It was very cool and loungy down there. pre-tunes were ok; I can definately see myself coming there on a more low-key night. Good crowd out...and I mean our TA crowd . Left a quarter to 1 and made our way down home.
After waiting in line for a while, we got in at about 1:30. Everytime I walk up those stairs that lead to the main room I get chills; good ones. Our feet decided to take over and already we were jamming and grooving. I was able to feel the AC for once, but that didn't last too long hah. Good sized crowd throughout the night; The Car Wash Crew were hornier than ever! At some points I was actually bothered by what I saw...this was a first. The vibe was decent but it didn't do much for me...Thus I had to create my own and spread it out. Nothing too interesting went on to point out, except that I almost wiped out because of a stupid bottle cap. Yay for slip and slide dancing skills . I left around 8:30...I just wasn't feeling it anymore and I was dead tired. If good tunes were played then I might have stuck around, but I'll discuss that next.
I have never disappointed musically in Sonic. It might be just me, but I'm starting to get sick of the Saturday parties. Same tunes every week, same crowd, nothing refreshing and everything ridiculously predictable. That's expected I guess, but I did manage to have a good time anyway at some points. Evil P's opener was good but lacked those 'great' tunes. Also, he kept staring at me...I was really disturbed. Cevin Fisher was surprising to say the least. I liked his intro, but other than that everything was just unstable. Tribal, electro, and diva house dropped really randomly. It was a bit of a mood killer, especially the diva house which had the most ridiculous lyrics I have ever heard. 'Accept me for who I am.' LOL...this isn't a coming out party! Fortunately the tech tribal that Fisher played was delicious. Non-stop, monkey ass shaking. At 7 Nevio came on...I don't like being so negative but I have to be honest here...Can this man ever play a successful set? First off, he needs new records. Same songs EVERY single time. But my biggest beef is his mixing. He cannot mix. period. Transitions were horrible at times, and I heard some trainwrecking at one point. Work on this PLEASE. I will not mention memorable tracks played during the night because I can't honestly remember any. I heard many tracks played 2 or 3 times which significantly bother me. Coburn - Give Me Love is an awesome tune...let's keep it that way...don't need to hear it THREE times!
Some GTs. Nice partying with the TAs who decided to come, and PFFFFFT to the ones that didn't. YOU know who you are!
Happy B-day to Tara once again
Ps. Daniel, sorry for my bojangled words. For someone who's sober I can be damn sketchy at times.
