Just fill out a F.A.F.S.A form online. Make sure you have your parents income tax forms handy such as their W2's and 1040's. If you have a job then you need your tax forms ready as well. Proceed to fill out what's on the FAFSA form like how much they make and so forth. Then, make sure you put down all the schools that you expect to receive funding for, even the schools you know you might not get into. After that submit it electronically and within a couple weeks you should know if you are qualified to receive money or not.
Here's the site: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/
P.S. - You were supposed to do that in January. That doesn't mean you will not get any funding from the government. It just means that once you start classes you're going to have to find a way to pay for classes until that tuition check arrives, that is, if you do qualify.

I filled out a fafsa back in may, and was told i'm not eligable, even though the tax forms showed, I'm a just out of high school grad with a low income job, and whose mom is over 100k in debt and whose dad is fighting in iraq until 2007..
I know i should have started earlier, but nobody ever told me how to find these scholarships, we're just told we need them. It's not until now I realize how much I need them, but I've of all these unclaimed scholarships, so I'm shopping around... |
Ouch! Then you're out gas my friend. I think probably the second best piece of advice has already been given below.

Rule of thumb: state schools = cheaper than private schools. |
