very amusing

I saw a "making of" video of this once. The guy actually uses MIDI to generate the 3d sequences. He wrote a "graphical audio generator" or something like that, inputs a midi file into the program and it automatically generates all the animation from the MIDI (after all the models have been created, setup and adjusted, of course, so it's not exactly 100% automatic )
If you've seen the Bouncing Balls video (about a billion bouncing balls, landing on strings, drums and other instruments), you'll know that creating these videos by hand is next to impossible
