Fear and Loathing in Montreal - How Crazy can it Get?

One year ago I was at an apartment I had rented in Montreal, I went to sleep at 9PM or something and set my alarm at 1:30AM... the alarm went off but I kept sleeping, good thing I woke up by 2:00AM, hell in most places I've been 2:00AM nighlife is dying, but no, it was MTL it was just starting.

So I called a CAB.. popped 2 pills without water while I was waiting for the cab. So the cab gets there, the pills are still half way through my throat because I didnt have water and I gave him directions and he takes me to Stereo. Damn... I get in and great decoration, great sound and great house music my Steve Porter. Suddenly I don't know why but I start to get all confused. Great/crazy vibe. Some guy with a mohawk and a basketball jersey with some chick dancing all night on the same spot. This other guy giving massages to people. This big guy with a squeaky voice. No booze, but people are going REALLY crazy, the no booze thing adds so much to the vibe. Peace/Love... no drunk people harrasing others, everyone doing their own thing.

So I get confused and go out and go in, the guy at the door saw me go out and in and I never went past the entrance door, but he still had to strip search me again, he even takes my wallet and looks for stuff see's my girlfriends picture and says she's cute. He then asks me if I'm OK... and I tell him YES, WHY? he says... YOU'RE SHAKING... I was feeling perfectly fine. So I go in, start looking at some Stereo shirts, great shirts, I don't know why I didnt get one.

So I'm drinking Gatorade, and water. Great combo. Then I see this old lady (Stereo's Grandmother) she's like mid 50's I'd guess. Pointing up in the sky all the time. This adds more crazyness to the party.

What impacted me the most was the bathrooms. I wanted to go to the bathroom and I see 3 doors, and I was like ARE THERE THREE SEXES IN MONTREAL? CAN THIS GET ANY CRAZIER? then I figured they where unisex bathrooms. So I went and started pissing on the urinals, I look back and 3 hot chicks where sitting down talking. Can this get any crazier I thought?

And depending on if you live at CFB Kingston your cost of living is probably very low as well, but even if you weren't cost of living in Kingston isn't that bad. Its only $30 which is cheaper than most nights at Stereo. Most of us on here who post about Stereo have put out probably hundreds and hundreds of dollars clubbing there just this year alone, and have never really complained for the most part. I know I sure as hell have.

I'm kinda obssesed with MTL actually. Every person I meet I ask them if they've ever been to MTL. Americans are such loosers, they hate Canada for no reason whatsoever. I personally think it's great, much better than the US.

Oddly enough after my MTL trip I was "locked-up" in rehab for 8 months. Well not locked up, but I kinda felt that way.

I'm now studying in Bemidji, Minnesota. So it's all good now. I feel good. I'd like to go back, but it's kinda scary. Like I want to go back, but I'm scared, I don't know if you feel me?

Oh ok.. let me be more clear.

I'm clean now, and with all that goes on at the clubs I'm going to want to get smashed up. And I don't really want too. But I know it's not the same vibe, or at least I haven't tried. It's kinda complicated, and my mind just flies and flies every day.
