Sounds pretty good, the melody is good, and everything is in scale (meaning your music theory isn't screwed up, this is something that most people without musical knowledge do wrong, they don't create melodies that are in key/scale, but just random notes. Just use your ears, if it sounds good, then it's all OK )
The track sounds very old skool, kinda 1997-1998 -ish, not necessarily a bad thing, but listen to some modern trance music and look for inspiration. Other than that, congratulations with your new hobby

good tune so far...
tips:
change the percs...kick could be louder, snare needs to be turned down
the "sweep" right at the end of the build up needs to be pitched up
synths could be detuned a little less and a little brighter...just personal preference though
mid/high-mid frequencies can be softened slightly
regardless, still a good production

When I want inspiration, I try to focus on some of the noise in the background, noise is everywhere and you really can't avoid it, but if you focus on some sort of noise for long enough, eventually you make musical variations of it in your head, at least I do. Things like crickets chirping, rain, boiling water, compuer fans, air conditioners, anything really, just take whatever you hear and see if it sparks a new tune in your head.
Sometimes I provide my own noise to make musical variations on, you might try doing that in whatever ways you can think of. The last one I tried generated sounds basd off this C++ program I wrote back in the day, it pretty much took certain numbers and used them to pick notes and stereo panning, so you could hear all these wild noises all over the place, and I could pick stuff out from the chaos, that little project is still inspiring alot of the stuff I'm playing with right now. It works best for me right before I go to sleep at night, I get most of my ideas then I forget about them when I wake up. Inspiration really isn't the hard part though, its all around us all the time.
Your tune sounded pretty, would have liked it a bit longer.

thanks
woah, so many replys, thanks guys
This is actually my second serious attempt.
Low Profile: thanks, late 90s? yea, sounds like it. Whats some good modern trance, sorry I havent been up to date lately.
KilldaDJ: what would make the perc stand out more?
ASFSE: haha, been there too many times =D
cherrybarry: how would I make the kick stronger? With what filters? The sweep, Ill put it on a higher octave and see how that goes. Again, Im not too sure how to brighten a synth. And the mid/hi-mid, Ill try to fix that.
dj_kane: ill fix the bass
UnWorldly: thanks =]
