Aria no more?
Just saw this reading Max Julien's Deepsound on EDMM.ca:
"On the down side, Aria will be no more. Although there is no word on whether a name change will take place, the owners have finally acquired a long-sought liquor licence, with the obvious condition being that they no longer operate an after-hour venue (the same condition when Godskitchen took over the building where Gravity was located). The club has been plagued with an immature younger vibe than its other two downtown after-hour counterparts, Stereo and Circus, meaning that the older clientèle has basically given up on Aria in favour of venues with an older crowd. This meant that international bookings became scarcer, with artists like Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, John Digweed, and others opting for elsewhere. Besides, those who tripped on trance and techno three or four years ago have either moved on to the house scene or given up on the scene altogether. The combination of these and other elements rendered Aria a near-ghost town, with some internationals this year playing in front of about 200 people – on a good night! Could Ferry Corsten (September 2) be the last major guest at Aria? More to come"
is it true?
