Can someone Please explain the shift from Trance to Progressive House in Mia?

I am totally lost right now, It seems like everyone in there mother is jumping on the (Rain/Ivano/Cedric/Progressive house band wagon), Why the sudden shift change. No more Shadow, no more Edgar V @ Space and rumor has it they want to run Padilla out of Space for a more housy night. WTF. I also was a bigtime Clubplanet forum poster but i had enough of the boring house heads, so im looking for some relief back here, where it all began @ TA.

Pete

hey pete,

yeah i noticed that too.... the change actually started to happen before shadow lounge closed down...

i think it happened sometime in mid '00 (ironically, when trance was hitting a good peak)... b/c when Level and Crowbar (when it used to be the Cameo) used to play prog. house and all the celebs and shit frequented these clubs.... i think the celebs and shit went to these clubs instead of the trance ones based on layout alone.... level & crowbar are more laid back.... tables and whatnot, while the trance clubs are small and pretty much dance-only...

so where the stars were, people followed. You will easily see the lines longer at the aforementioned clubs than Space or shadow lounge ever had.

so even though we're die-hard trance addicts, the public is where the money is. You'd have to sway the general clubbing public in order to bring the great trance back.

(FYI i heard through a friend of a friend that Judge Jules' House sessions at Space brought in more dough than Tiesto..... something to think about!)

Good Point, 3 things will happen in MIA, either Trance phazes out after WMC, I.E. Space goes for a more Danny Howells, Satoshi, X-Press 2, deep progresive feel on Fridays. and leaves Level to become the Next Shadow, or Billboard Becomes the Next Tranceimissions Space (Has anyone checked it out)

Space closes all together and reopens in like a yr at there new location and Brings and stays Trance Fridays house Saturday (They will make money anyway Because its new and hip and in.) Level will say fuck paying for dj's and just have geogre everynight, and Billboard wont make up its mind on what type of music and what day.

Or Lastly, Outside shot, someone would take a risk after conference depending on Space's situtaion and the vibe of Trance and try to open a new Trance Place.
