I need help choosing colors to use for an acadmic type site. I was thinking a dark green, like a hunter green and a tanish background. Anyways, if someone can help me out here, with specifics, I would really appreciate it.
Harvards site has too much green in their brown >.<
I like sand or light golden color for that... Id rather keep backgrounds subtle but if youre looking for a bolder one...

No, sorry for the confusion, I meant using green as a font color, and sidebar and toolbar color, white body, and tan/sand background framing the site page. Like that top sand color I think is right about what Im looking for. Although I do like the crimson and sand scheme too.

Academic type website? With green as the font color? No. Use white as the background for content, wil a black sans-serif font. As for the main background, use a nice dark forest green to emphasize the content. Don't even think about coloring the sidebar and toolbar, because thats far from 'academic'.
hope that helps
