The show's concept conceived and hosted by DJ Mute, primarily focuses on presenting new talent every time, along with returning exclusive guest appearances from already established global Canadian music acts. While the show will demonstrate all aspects of electronic dance music, it will concentrate above all on top quality underground house music. Magnetic North's host, Toronto native DJ Mute, a veteran of the local Canadian scene is no stranger to the global dance music community. Having played with some of the world's most recognized acts, and at some of the world's most recognizible places, DJ Mute will occasionally record exclusive sets as well for the show, promoting the latest progressive house music, including works by some of Canada's impressive producers.

Laki

Having grown up in Prague, Czech Republic, amidst the electronic music revolution, DJ Laki (aka Lazar Radenovic) was an innovator in the city for many years. He has held residencies in Reading and London (UK), and placed third in the Ministry of Sound endorsed DJ competition in Berks District.

While in the UK, Laki had the opportunity to play alongside world renowned DJs including Danny Rampling, Mr. C and Lisa Pinup.

In 2002 Laki was added to the Rampant roster for his house/tech-house sound which he has performed at numerous events in Toronto. Laki has also served as an ambassador for Rampant and System Soundbar at events in Prague and in the US. With his successful show, opening for Marco V at the Necto in Detroit, Laki has set new standards for Toronto DJs representing abroad.

Nathan a well-sought after DJ/Producer has his own successful record label called Rawthentic Music, who he partners with his brother Jason Barato. After seeing his brother doing, .cool stuff with records.. 1994 was the year it all began for Nathan. He got hired to play a high school formal where he played everything from Hip-Hop, Freestyle, and House to Slow Jams. A well-versed, multitalented DJ in many genres of dance music helps keep Nathan on top of what is current and happening in the International EMS. While in the midst of his early DJ career Nathan worked at Traxx Records for six years and was also head buyer for Fully Loaded Distribution. Nathan.s residencies; The Guvernment, Comfort Zone, Lush and Footwork. He has had the opportunity to play at; Industry, Mad Bar, Film Lounge, System Soundbar, Roxy Blu and Fluid. His magical story-telling sets has gotten him booked for various special events such as Labour of Love, (The Guvernment) and JaXx House (System Soundbar). An event he helped start for the sole purpose to help keep the EMS alive.

He has opened/closed for; Ralph Lawson, Nick Warren, Doc Martin, DJ Sneak, Hector Romero, Green Velvet, Sandy Rivera, Deep Dish, DJ Remy, DJ Diz, DJ Disciple, Max Graham, Matthias Heilbronn, DJs Rooster & Sammy Peralta, Gene Farris, DJ Lego, Paul Van Dyk, Joe Clausell, John Kelly, Tall Paul, Steve Lawler and Sasha. Nathan understands the power of the crowd and to pay attention to what they.re craving. He says, .Programming and control is my number one concern. Mixing is important but nothing is more important than the music. Sometimes DJs need to realize the crowd doesn.t necessarily need to be rocked at every moment. Maybe they just want you to show them some shit they've never heard before and still be rocked. So bring it!.

Well Focus' new home at Gecko may not be a bad thing. I hear the drink offers are quite nice, and Tyler mentioned that the soundsystem will still be good. Just going to another club; at least it's still on Fridays too.

Still have a lot of work to do for the Gecko. There's that darn stripper pole!!

just got back from gecko - sound was pretty good, a little too bright but still good, kevin played an awesome set!

bouncers were fucking pricks.. whats with 3 of them throwing that one chick out?

the place looked pretty good for a former hells angels watering hole
