For 100 bones. You just can't go wrong. They beat the shit out of the Sony 7506 (which seems all too standard now adays) sonically. They aren't super crispy the like the Sony's and there is actual BASS in my headphones now.
I'm so happy. How many other AKG240 owners we got on the prod boards?
I just bought my self the Beyerdynamic DT990´s, and i dont think i will change for i while. They cost like 90 euros more than the AKG, which i was suppose to buy, but a friend of mine works at a Hi-Fi store and gave me a 50 euro off on the DT990´s, and i have ever looked back to the AKG´s since then.
I bought the dt770's because I thought the AKG's werent connected in the store. I found out later that the AKG's only produce sound when they are on your head. Stupid me...
But I'm quite happy with my DT770's, except they're too bass heavy and my neck gets fatigued after a while because of the weight.

I own the AKG 240S too. I love them, they're so comfortable and sound great. They look kind of cool too.

I like crispy sound and I like not having bass heavy cans. I also like thr 506s.. but since they are pretty mainstream now they must suck.

K240S - £75, DT770 - £80, HD280 - £75, with free delivery on all. dilemma...
I can recommended the DT770. Sometimes I wish they were louder but then again I will only damage my ears.

i been looking at these and the beyerdynamic 'studio' headfones that are about the same price. at the mo i am using my sennheiser 25-sp's and my pair of hifi speakers that do have a good flat response similar to that of proper monitor speakers.
my question is:- will a pair of these headphones(or beyerdynamic alternative) allow me to mixdown my trax to a better quality that using my sp's during times when i need to be quiet? the guy in sound control said headphones are really useless for monitoring compaired to real monitors, but i thought these would be better than using often 'unflat' buget monitors.. also will these give me a more flat response than my quite bass heavy 25-sp's?
help apprieciated

AKG makes good headphones, I've got the K401's and they are really nice. I really want to try out the K701's now.
I recently got the Audio Technica ATH W1000 phones. They really do reveal a new level of detail which was previously inaudible, even in moderately priced phones like the 401's which already have a very detailed sound. The realism is just unbelievable when listening to acoustic music and vocals. I really do like using headphones to monitor in conjunction with speakers.
