That's fine, it's your opinion. I decided to start mellow and build it up to a climax. That does take a little bit of thought and preparation to pull off successfully. If it's pumping the whole way through, it gets bland and monotonous. I don't know how you could possibly call that DT8 Project track boring! But once again, you are entitled to your own opinion. Thanks for the feedback. |
I haven't listened, but I was reaidng through the posts and saw this response. I think it embodies a lot of dj responses to criticism on this board (not all). You post here, Im guessing to promote yourself first and foremost. However, building on your skilss I am sure must, or at least should, be a priority when posting a mix. You are getting feedback not from just some shmucks thats read dj mag and have heard their first mix cd and think they are freaking the judge of all things great now. You have many on this board, who have themselves made mixes, know how to structure a mix and know the different ways to structure one (which is why I found your second two sentences so condescending). You may not agree with a person's comments, but what seems to happen more often than not is a dj is stuck thinking their mix really is the best it could've been, and therefore cannot see the flaws in what they've done. It seems in your response you have simply politely brushed him off with no more thought than you'd give a pesky fly. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I have noticed this trend on this board, and felt that it was time I expressed what I felt.
