at the end of the day they are just computers and they all do the same thing....it's how you use them that makes the difference.
the automation is done better in Logic, the instruments that come with logic are better too, apart of that everything else is pretty much the same!

umm.. not the end product though. You can make two identical tracks one with cubase and one with logic. They will sound diffrent because each renders(not sure if its the right word) the sound diffrently. this is information I got from Torsten fastbenders trance experiance book I just thought it would be inportant to know that no they are not all the same at the end of the day. ofcourse i bet its not a great deal diffrent.. but diffrent all the same.
switch if you have to. if you're already familiar with cubase and can write music in it, then there's no point in switching unless logic has that one magical feature that instantly enables you to write amazing music in a way that no other daw can.

I imagine the logic renders better....i dont like how cubase exports for some reason. Ive always hated it.. Even fruity i thought exported nicer. But that is not enough reason to switch over. I have other reasons.....I have heard the same about export though.

Didn't we do do a test of this before.. the same midi exported off the same vst in both FL and Cubase.. sounded exactly the same.
I didn't mention anything about anything being better or sounding different......but as that's where the thread is leading......so is the difference that much that a track wouldn't be a hit or enjoyable to listen to if produced in one and not the other ? I don't think so.
obviously 'out-of-the-box' both cubase and logic will not be configured to produce the same sounds and you would most probably hear differences in both.......but like I said......at the end of the day it's how you use your tools and if you are a master with your 'knobs' then you can produce the same sound in any software.
If you are switching to Logic for a particular soft-synth or effect then that's a diffenrent story alltogether.
Finally, "would the switch to Logic be a tough one" ?
YES, because you will then have to start learning how to use your shiney new Macintosh aswell as Logic and then all the over toothing problems that come with new computers......make your own choice on this one and good luck.
My point was there a subtle tonal diffrences between the two because of how each renders audio. Its not the fact of one being better than the other its just that for personal taste it depends on ones self. But i Imagine they wont be such a big diffrence to produce a "hit" or a "magically" make songs sound better. Personally I like my PC

Cubase exists for Mac too, so that's something you might want to consider before switching. Is the Mac specifically for the use of Logic, or is the platform switch incidental?
Logic's an excellent sequencer, and if you're a good producer the switch shouldn't be excruciating, but nevertheless there's going to be a rather unproductive period of moving up the learning curve, which seems like a waste unless you have some specific reason in mind.

The following was told directly to my face:
"Drop everything you are doing, and learn Logic. It will be worth your time no matter where you are now." - Randy Boyer
"Theres nothing like Logic, everything else is a waste of time." - Elevation
"Logic is where its at, I highly recommend only using Logic" - Markus Schulz
I still use SX3 because its the switch and down time/ learning curve i'm afraid of. but those things were said right to my face!
