WITH THE 5th INSTALLMENT OF THE ANNUAL LABOUR OF LOVE EVENT JUST AROUND THE CORNER

I thought it would be WIKKID to recall some of your favourite moments from past experiences.

Last year was by far the most memorable for me - thanks to these boards and the people I had met last summer.

Not to mention my birthday falls during the labour day weekend so memories are a bit more vivid with association

Here are some fond memories:



Labour of Love

2003

Sasha dropping EXPANDER - one of my favourite tracks of all time - never had it sounded so good

Corsten and his set WOW - the crowd was super pumped ROCK YOUR BODY ROCK and PUNK anthems anthems anthems!!!! WHEEEEE!!!

High Contrast - Just coming off his success with the Album True Colours - one of my favourite Drum and Bass producers - hearing Music Is Everything made my heart swoon!!

Hybrid - Another top notch music outfit - Morning Sci-Fi album tearing up the charts and one of the first times ever hearing them live - great breaks and complex melodies making for an aural soundscape of EPIC proportions

Random meeting of people that turned out to be some very influencial people in the scene and encouraging me to market myself more and gave me a ton of advice of behind the scene politics and the ins and outs - not to mention access to most events over the coming years through guestlist hook-ups and more - ah the days when a promo disc in the hand from a record label worked magic!!



2004

Friends from Kingston attending (Nathan and Sheri their first time coming to GUV and being blown away at the shear massiveness of the place) just some of the many people that I have introduced electronic music too over the years - and the beginning of the WIKKID WIKKID chant you all know and love

Morgan (guv employee from the Glowstick/Candy/Popcorn concession booth) - Massive love for this guy - already treating me right and keeping me and my friends hydrated and in sticks to order to BRING IT UP BRING IT UP even more - serious VIBE enhancer - that would be him

DEEP DISH SANDER K and DAVE CLARK - amazing sets.........to hear Dave Clark's RED 3 after such a long time - so WIKKID!



2005

Drew and Dannie and Mikey and the Greek Pita before we began the night - so good! A bit chilly and whole lotta hyper - 9:30 we were in the doors!

The random birthday Revs that gave me massive energy for Oliver and Schultz

Meeting so many TA's for the first time and solidifying some major freindships in the process

BLANK AND JONES!! - HANDS DOWN BEST SET of the party - WIKKID WIKKID all around!

Armin Dropping - Matthew Dekay's Digifruitella 3 or 4th track into his set - FUCK had I not been waiting since April to hear that song on a CLUB system - I swear shivers had not come over me like that in LOOOONG time - so GOOD!.......second mention to the Greece 2000 remix as well - dancing it up at the seating area in the Kool Haus - TA's as far as the eye could see - man I was on fire that night! haha!

Lisa Loo almost not making it to the party - what a story and what a JOY to have you there bringing it up..........I also think a premonition for things to come with Mr Vertigo.....Cale ROCKS!

Lucas Mead and his asthma attack - now I am good at fighting through the crowds - WANT ME TO FILL YOUR WATER BOTTLE - I BE THE MAN! - but trying to get Lucas up to Skybar so he could get some fresh air! - JOKES! - haha - we said fuck INFUSION and made our way - almost record time might I add - we hustle and bustle through the crowd - me yelling "keep moving people - clear the stairs and me hitting a massive wall of a BLACK MAN - who was so fucked and just stood there and blocked the way - next thing you know I am saying MOVE MOTHER******" and pushed him sideways out the way - Lucas thought he was gonna kick my ass! Oh shit the things I do for friends have gotten me into some trouble but in the end it is always worth it! Skybar was rocking and I managed to make it around the entire complex 3 times that night.

One of my favourite birthday weekends EVER the TA BBQ at Nat's the day before had set such a nice tone for hype and vibe and and this year looks to be more of the same!


I am sure that ths year will be full of surprises and awesome music - come with a positive VIBE and leave the drama at home - YOU ALL MAKE THE NIGHT BETTER when you are smiling and dancing - and I wanna see a whole lot of WIKKID WIKKID and BRING IT UP BRING IT UP this year - last year is going to be heard to beat - but it can be done

Looking forward to seeing everyone next week on a massive scale once again - the party of the YEAR - Labour of Love 2006!
