Coco Entertainment Canada and Mtl Vibe are glad to introduce a new concept in Montreal nightlife scene for everyone to discover new musical styles and talent. Every 2-4 weeks we will be hosting this special night at Club 1234 in the Red Room by having an exclusive performance of various new electronic music djs in the local and surrounding scene who we think deserve some more recognition due to the hard work they have invested in what they love most. There will be approximately 10 events following this concept where the attendants will be able to vote for their favorite performance later on our website. The winner will be able to get one big event for himself in the Main Room and a lot of prizes from our partner .at end for a big celebration. Various prizes also will be given away during different nights for the crowd.

The Rising Star Friday’s will be starting October 6th with Julius Friz. Here is a little about him.

“My name is Julius Friz, I am 20 years old and I have been mixing for about 4 years now. It all started with a program called PCDJ. I was hooked and soon bought a pair or Technics and a mixer. Learning to mix with vinyl is essential to anyone who is serious about his craft and that is why to this day I still have the utmost respect for vinyl jocks but I realized that the medium did not suit my developing style. I started looking for other platforms and fell upon a program called Ableton Live which impressed me with its enormous creative potential.
For the last year I have been hard at work exploring the limits of this tool and have been doing my best to create a unique performance through live re-mixing / re-editing by use of loops, samples and cannibalized sounds.
The best way to describe my style would be a mix of electro house with elements of break beat, techno, prog and minimal” - Julius Friz

These events will be all free of charge if your names are on the guest list. All we ask in return is first and most important of it all come have fun while experiencing and supporting new artists in the industry, show up early to avoid big line ups and have a proper dress code. We hope to see many of you for this long series of events and great parties !!
