It's been awhile, but I felt myself being forced to reply.

There are good ideas here... it's their execution that bothers me.

I really really really really like the classical-ish melody here. I like it so much that it seems unfitting to make it a trance track off the bat. All the power to you, however, I won't tell you how to apply drums and bass to this tune. The strings and pads are excellent... however, there needs to be a secondary melody that isn't played by the main lead. All you have to do then is take away the mediocre trance rythm and bass and apply a funkalicious drum-loops and a more bouncy, acoustic bass -- BOOM -- you've got yourself a rather original electronica track that some video game producers would drop to their knees for. Aw, scratch the video game music part... this is a good idea, but I fear that it could get lost in clinging too much to one type of sound. If you want to keep it as an experimental trance track you are going to have to make the rythm and timbres fit the mood better -- they sound too stale.

Also, those pad strings sound too thin and raspy for my taste.

Even though classical music is influencing trance, it's not doing so that encourages alot of key changes. Just work on the drums and bass a little more and I'll be too happy to keep you occupied.

e-mail me at [email protected] if you have more updates on this project.

interesting..... there needs to be more distinguishment between the different instruments and layers. when the pads, lead, and bass are playing, they all kind of mesh together too much, kind of like too much reverb is saturating the sounds making it less clear and crisp. very creative

You know... this idea would be really cool as an epic/power/fantasy metal riff. You know, kinda like Nightwish or Thy Majestie. Break out a squelling guitar to this melody and I'll be shedding tears.
