what would happen if you were to power 2 sets of speakers from one set of outputs from an amp.

im reli interested in this. personally i cant anythin being wrong with this, i split inputs and outputs on my mixer all the time if its required. surely this the same. or maybe i am missing sumthin?

this is called daisy chaining, and there are no problems as long as:

your amp has a rated power output for the given speaker imdepance which is likely 8 ohms.

if you daisy chain two 8 ohm speakers, it is like having one 4 ohm speaker, and your amp will work twice as hard.

So in other words, you need a 1600watt @ 8ohm amp to power 2 800watt speakers (per channel). Or a 1600watt @ 4 ohm per channel.

Most amplifiers can handle 4 ohm loads just fine, and most speakers are 8 ohm so you will probably be OK, but it is best to check the specs.

cheers guys. i just obtained an old pair of KEF concord4 and i dont have a spare apm only the 1 use for my moniters. so they aint gonna be super powered. they fill the room with sound even at low levels.

i was just checking incase i damaged the speakers in anyway. the amp is only a crappy home one not that powerful either. il try it out. may not even keep it like that just wanted to experiment

if i like it il probs upgrade th amp if its gonna makethe amp work twice again. heres a link to the kef speakers i got.
