GENERAL MIDI

Paul Crossman, a.k.a. General Midi, has always managed to master a more level crunching, dub flavored and bass fuelled musical ride than his peers and it is this distinction that has earned him his fast growing reputation as the source of a great night out when he's behind the controls!

Emerging from the backrooms of the Bristol club scene, his slick DJ ability and an ear for a great tune have given him regular appearances at breaks hotspots across the planet such as Fabric, Chew The Fat, Blow Pop, Sounds On Sundays (Sydney), Two Tribes (Australia), Zouk (Singapore), Budapest, all across the USA, Hungary, Spain, Serbia, China and Hong Kong.

Teaming up with production partner Eelz, General Midi has been responsible for some of the most genre defining tunes in 'The Westoner' (1999), 'Daft Funk' (2001), 'Further' (2003), 'You will Be Under' (2003), 'Entertainer' (2004), 'Bass Rockerz' (2004), 'House of Funk' (2005) and ‘Turn It Loud’ (2006). Over the last few years General Midi's singles have been released on some of the most highly respected breaks labels including TCR (Rennie Pilgrim’s label), Kilowatt (Hyper's label) and Boombox Records.

All of this success has led to his debut full-length album titled 'Midi Style' which has just been released worldwide on Distinctive Records UK. Preview tracks from the album have hinted at a first class release which covers breakbeat, electro and a little bit of the ragga sound. With early support right across the board in the clubs (Timo Maas, Fergie, Plump DJs) and on the radio (Zane Lowe, Annie Nightingale) it'll be well worth booking your seat for this ride early!

General Midi’s full-length artist album titled “Midi Style” is out now on Distinctive Records UK!
