Review: Red Hot Chili Peppers @ ACC (Tuesday the 26th)

Well, what an interesting show. Lesson learned: when a band is doing two shows in the same town.. the 2nd one will probably be the worse of the two. Completely missed the Mars Volta.. who I actually wanted to see. The Chili's were on stage for less than 2 hours.. which was disappointed. The security at the show was redic-donculous. Everyone that was lighting up a joint got tossed, and it looks as though they caught most people in our area. Above all this, RHCP's set was mediocre at best. It started off pretty good.. but then turned bad. About half of the set was their newer material. So instead of a list of highlights.. how about some lowlights?

They skipped the following classics:

Under The Bridge
Blood Sugar Sex Magik
Californication
My Friends
Otherside
Suck My Kiss
Sir Pyscho Sexy

The only thing about the show that was above average was the stage setup.

That is fine, but it still can be added with the other review thread that is already started. No harm in that..

Another question/comment about the show. Does the ACC not have a general admission section anymore? I was shocked when I saw that the entire stage level were all seats. What is a rock concert without a mosh pit?

they should still have one. I don't see why they wouldn't...
last concert I went to there they had one, but that was back in the days of The Tragically Hip

Hmm.. maybe it was just an exception for this show then, because it was seats right up to the stage. I wish all concerts were all general admission, like Kool Haus or The Phoenix...

I had a great time, but I was disappointed in the length of the set and the fact they didn't play Under the Bridge. However I was very pleased to see Give it Away and Take it Slow! Had a great time after the show at the Moose bar!

They didn't play "Aeroplane" either. However they did do a cover of "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" originally done by The Shirelles.
