Anyone here work for a financial firm? know of any any openings for an entry level position? looking for any financial anaylist or an advisory position, or anything to get my foot in door.

Got an economics degree and pretty much doing nothing related to it at the current time. So would love to get my carrer in the finance field started and any help is much appreciated.

by the way all these are for analyst positions for 2007. you can apply online obviously.
i dont know what ure interested in but do some research because finance its a a very big and diverse field so you must know what you want when you approach these companies, otherwise they will dump u in no time.
basically, you WONT be a trader right away so forget about that for now, i would recommend controllers and operations. if ur GPA is higher than 3.7 and higher u can go for equity but i doubt you will get in right away unless u pull an ace in the interview rounds.

operations is definitely a good way to get your foot in the door and learn the industry. Back-office support is a lot of grunt work but if you put in your time and establish a good relationship with front office management, you'll have a great chance of moving up.

Jr. Broker roles are very hard to come by. You'll need a very high GPA to be even considered. You make crap money your first couple years but they'll sponsor for your licenses.

The mutual fund sector is huge, there's always fund accounting or portfolio administrator position out there. It's boring work but it's relevant experience. As DJ Lord said, unless you have an MBA or prior experience, it's really tough to get into front office work right out of college. Good luck in your search and PM me if you have any other questions.
