Dude, If you haven't played Gothic 1 and 2 I suggest you do it. Its the best RPG game i've ever played, though largely underrated. Great gameplay and storyline. I've seen the Gothic 3 trailer just yeasterday, and i'm totaly psyched for it. Looks awesome

IM one of the minority of RPG fans that doesnt really like the Gothic series. I just coudnt get into it. As much as i absolutely loved the big, seamless, open world which you are completely free to explore i was bothered by the controls and user interface which i dislike wery much. Still might pick it up one day again as everybody tells me to STFU and wait until i get used to the controls becouse then the game will start to rock.

I bet. I started by playing Gothic 2, then i tried playing Gothic 1 to see how it developed into Gothic 2 , but the controls were a bit differet, so i didn't finish the first one. I guess if you haven't tried any of them, its best for you to start from the beginning to get the whole story
@ Moongoose, i am totaly the opposite way. I didn't get into other RPG games and i loved gothic

In case someone is interested, the difference between high, medium and low visual settings in G3.
If ill ever play this (have to play trough 1 and 2 first) i will make damn sure that i can run the game on High detail. I usualy dont really care for how good the graphics are. I dont mind playing games from the times of 386 and 486 compurers...hell i was just having fun playing Cabal (C64 title) but i really cant stand it if i cant see wery far (im prepared to have every other setting on low, as long as the wiev distance is set to maximum)

I m playing @ high and it runs great for me ! Sometimes it laggs but than the game is loading new details and stuff like that. After 3 sek it runs good.
The fighting system is a bit difficult for me but i think i need some training. After it i will be a Killer

Maybe in Australia but over here it gets all the hype. If, like me, you dont really like Gothic that much you are practicaly an outcast in the RPG world. People get treated nicer if they dont like Baldurs Gate (with which i also have issues but lets leave that alone) and since that game practically pulled RPGs out of the grave that should tell you something.
I do live closer to Germany though, maybe that has something to do with it.
