Mortars

I hate to sound like Nou fantacizing about weapons and such, but mortars are just freaking cool.

Anyway, I think these things are really neat. I doubt I could buy one of these, so instead I want to build one myself. Anybody have any tips on how to do so?

Start with some cardboard 'Bounty' rolls and some Scotch tape. Put a big spring at the bottom. Drop an M80 in there, watch it fly, and *BINGO* you have just started your very own war!

Mortars are also used as fireworks. Maybe buy some from your local fireworks shop to see how they work.
