Xavier Van Nero - Hypnotise

Hi,

I've done productions before, but this is my first one on TA. I'm working on this track at the moment. Any feedback (comments, criticisms, suggestions) is appreciated.

Thanks.

listening:

nice percs.. i like the melody, kind of oldschool.. the melody that enters in the break is nice too.. i like this track, its not complicated, it doesnt try to be anything else than it is.. simple and effective track, which reminds me of trance from the older days.

but it still doesnt sound fully finished.. i dont know what u should add either.

This has a lot of potential. It has a good variety of synths - some sound old skoolish, but some, especially the lead that comes in during the breakdown, sounds like the latest thing on the club scene at the moment. Good stuff

I like the lead synth. The melody is cool.
The kick is very weak, and almost inaudible at some places.
The simple off beat bassline gives this track a very oldschool feel in a bad way. The pad sounds very basic and kind of cheesy.
The track has potential, you should work on it more.

Subtle: Thanks for the comments! Its much appreciated. When you say that you like the melody, do you mean the one that comes in at 1 min? I thought that might have been a bit simple, but it is part of the introduction. The one that comes in during the break is a bit more complex.

Eldritch: I made the bassline simple in the introduction. The full bassline only comes in at the buildup. Maybe i'll introduce the bassline earlier. And is the kick weak in terms of volume, or should it have more low end (i.e. another sample layered over).

Thanks for the feedback guys!
