Thanks for the upload. The mix sounds pretty good so far! Do you still have links up for further and I like open spaces?

Thanks!

I downloaded this mix because of Martin Roth. I don’t like most of Martin Roth’s productions, it’s the fact that you used him in your set which interested me. Sadly as I had expected this set isn’t my cup of tea, but the mixing is exceptional. Although, there are 3 tracks which caught my eye or ear in this case and they are 1,3, and 7. The first track literally melted my ears off. It’s a beautiful trancy opener which caught my attention immediately. The third track is a jazzy number which sounds mysterious in nature, but in a happy sort of way. That’s the best I can describe it. Track 7 is a dark electro, house oriented tune which is what I admire most about this track. As for the rest of the music, I tried getting into it, but no cigar. Crazy set Coded, but not for me.

I really liked this mix up until the transition into posing as me. It kinda threw off the whole thing for me and the mix out of it wasnt too much better imo. I like how you played the Martin Roth track for something different there at the end but for me it didnt really fit in. But overall a solid mix, nice work.

Hey coded, been a while since I gave you a review, so here's is a much overdue look at your latest.

So you open up with this nice interesting peace that has this good vibe, like it. I like this atmosphere that you develop right off the bat, which I think is essential to any good mix. Really like (a lot) the melody of the third track, definently a turn for the darker in your mix, but at the same time fulfills its roll as being a driving track to build off of. Good selection. Really getting dark and atmospheric at track 5 I believe with the eery string-like sweeps in the background. Im beginning to think that your first two tracks, however weren't nearly dark enough. Think its been really smooth so far, right now Im at the tribal-electro sounding track. Whoa, did a track drop just take place? I'm just past the 33 minute mark I think at the Umek track now. Anyways, a much needed pick up in pace is answered here. Sick track, believe it's the Umek track, in some ways reminds me of Nathan Fake's Outhouse. K like this next track but that lame ass bass guitar part really almost wrecks the whole track (even though it is in there for 5 seconds). Gets really hard at the end, gets a little too trancy or trance-like here, in my opinion. As soon as I typed it, the full out trance breakdown kicked in. Don't get me wrong, sick track, I just don't think it fits all that well with whats been going on up until this point, not in mood (as it keeps the darkness thing going) but rather in its epic feel.

Ok, so looking back a few comments. First, I feel the 1st two tracks need to be examined again as I dont think they created the mood that was carried on with the rest. Second, it is super smooth for the majority of the rest, the only problem is that theres a few moments where things just dont match up. One is as mentioned before, the jazzy part in track 3, second that dropped track mix out, and third is the super lame guitar that comes in for 5 seconds in one of the later tracks. Nit-picky stuff really, but essential corrections if going for a really good mix. Lastly is the trance turn at the end. Now, the song itself was really good, as mentioned, but it was far too epic sounding. Overal, the mix had a nice concept with a mood that, once established, was really maintained spectacularly with unblinking focus. Overal, I'd give the mix a 7/10, the short commings being those mentioned above.

On a side note, I hate to pigeon-hole you to one type of mix, but I sorely miss your chill-out mixes. When, if at all, can I expect another one?

Another excellent mix Coded. f-ing loved it. your start on this one was so well done. the first track gives such a good warm up feeling. reminiscent of trance sounds and melodies with a proggy twist. second track breaks the sound up and drifts you away just like i like my second tracks to do. third takes that good feeling and adds a bit of eeriness to it. i love eerie. after that it gets techy and a bit tribal. really had no particularly bad moments after that. one or two tracks were a bit underwelming, can't pick out exactly which ones. but it had some incredible moments to balance. the transition to the track at 33 min was a bit off. sounded cut off. but the track at that point was killer so it didn't bother me much. the martin roth track was welcome to me also. fucking why not, it was interesting and something i havent encountered before. not the track but the placement. so i thought it was pretty good. after the breakdown i did get a sense of the beat being very different which threw me off a bit but still enjoyed the finish. anyway hope my comments are helpful in anyway. honestly you are one of my favorite djs and always look forward to your stuff. and the thing is you always suprise me! so cheers for that.
