you should be using the pitch slider to adjust tracks' tempos and the pitch bend (on the jog dial) should only be for minor adjustments if you need to get tracks in sync if their slightly off. the jog dial isn't accurate enough to beatmatch by itself. are you new to mixing? if so then most likely you just need to practice more and also it takes time to get used to individual CDJ's...

Well yeh, I'm new to CD mixing. I have a lot of acquired knowledge regarding music structure, phrase matching, key matching, eqing etc from using Traktor to mix for 3 years, it's just getting used to beat matching with CDJ's rather than a computer, which, lets face it, does some of the work for you anyway.

I used tracktor for a year kinda got borin SYNC SYNC SYNC so i went out and got Turntables much more fun.

I also used traktor for a few years, got myself a month ago a pair of cdj 1000 mk3's. Now i'm pretty bored again, beatmatching is easy as pie. Can't wait to add a technics 1210 mk2.

Just practise a bit with your cdplayers and don't expect it'll work from the very beginning ...

err... what?

you seem to be giving a bit of misleading advice right there. the jogwheel is not for "beatmatching by itself". it is for corrections. it is obvious it cannot beatmatch by itself, because it does not change tempo, rather it 'bends' it temporarily (hence the term, pitch bend).

anyways; HARN, just be REALLY careful with them. they are super sensitive. it will take a bit to get used to, but eventually, you'll be able to cue up a track and finish beatmatching while the fader is open, cuz you can have such subtle corrections on the 200 it is almost undetectable most times if you do it right. love mine to death. what you must be extra careful with is the pitch slider itself, its kinda hard to actually just move it 0.02% at times.

no doubt. I like to use the thumb-on-slider with my fingers holding onto the side of the cdj.
