I'm into a kinda similar mood so i'm gonna suggest various stuff!
For trance two of my favorites are "Touched" and "Reflections" by firewall (aka Lange). Love this two-sided vinyl.Another two classic tunes that i like are these ones by Steve Helstrip...

For non-trance music, try ALL the albums by Sigur Ros, Explosions in the Sky,Godspeed you Black Emperor!, Ulrich Schnauss (nobody's home), M83, Slowdive (catch the breeze album), Telefon Tel Aviv, Bola, Arovane... Samples:

Sigur Ros- "Untitled 4-Njosnavelin-the nothing song" (This is the whole tune!Beautiful!)

(live performance of "vaka"- a nice piano tune. Check the dramatic crescendo at the end)

(M83-teen angst-don't let the title and the emo-y beginning put you down. It's a very good tune IMO. Fot deep melancholy though you'll have to listen to "farewell/goodbye" and "lower your eyelids to die with the sun" by the same band.
http://mp3.juno.co.uk/MP3/SF196745-01-01-02.mp3 (another good M83 tune)
These and lots of 80s newwave/darkwave/synthpop/goth albums and bands such as: The Cure (disintegration), Joy Division (Substance), The Chameleons U.K. (Strange Times-one of the best albums ever!), Echo and the Bunnymen(Ocean Rain), Clan of Xymox (Medusa-a beautiful synth-driven melancholic album), Death in June (rose-clouds of holocaust),OMD (Architecture and Morality), Cocteau Twins (treasure), Danse Society (Heaven is Waiting).
The tune that you feature reminds me of some works by Vangelis. Try "Opera Sauvage"
and if you like piano in general than Chopin, Debussy and Satie are your best friends!
