Question the degeneration of today's generation?

What think you? The first question that came to mind, relevant to the subject question, was in indirect reference to the thread concerning Whiskers, and why the threads are seemingly more 'dumbed down,' as it were. The first answer that came to mind, is that lots of TAs likely have a great deal of leisure to indugle and idle in, and are of course making aimless threads simply 'because they can' and are bored of their excessive leisure, among possibly many other reasons, to boot. Whereas when we're hard-pressed to find any leisure at all, we (hopefully) avail ourselves of thoughtful posts/threads. In short, a lot of our posts/threads are not only unpremeditaded, but the very act of conveying some eyesore or other is equivalent to an absolute indulgence in idleness. Natural born sinners?

I'm not sure if you're being facetious or not, but the humor, or the lack thereof, is an epitome of what I wrote. Don't take offense, though, I surely must do it now and then too, for when I do, I must be whiling away my time in happy indulgence of leisure.

as the pressure to succeed mounts and the time we used to spend socializing and relaxing with other people in general decreases, our social idiocy - which could be described as anything fun-loving, increases. Online boards are an ideal place to focus that energy.

It is a time to forget about the pressures and stresses of real life, if only for an hour.

Also, our generation has any number of ways to connect to sites such as these, home, libraries, work you name it. The increase is probably due to both an increase in online social connectivity (and consequently a decrease in human to human social interaction) and the proliferation of devices that allow us to connect to or virtual communities. Most of the time we have a brief window of connectivity in which to post which is more conducive to low-brow, idiotic threads.
