cdj flight cases - are they bad for the cdj's?

i was reading my cdj manual and it says there should be space around the cdj so it can breath and stuff.. it also said that if you put it in a flight case (which contradicts the fact that there should be breathing room), not to put pressure on the jog dial. well i thought it was necessary to have the foam pressing on top of the cdj to hold it in place when transporting...

do any of you guys have your cdj's in flight cases and/or do you think putting the cdj's in flight cases is a bad idea?

i play out 3x a week and i really need to have them protected...

i read the same, but the breathing space fact is only for when they are in operation, ive seen my CDJs act funny just because they were in a hotter than usual room...if you wanna play out of the flightcases then simply put something under the back of it to angle the entire unit up, and expose the venting. as for putting pressure on the jog dial, that is exactly what i wonder, the flight cases put pressure on the jog wheel. However, my guess is that if you go for a high quality flight case, specifically for CDJs and not just something Generic, my best guess would be that the foam that presses against the top of the unit goes around the jog wheel, in the sense that the foam is recessed in the area the jog wheel would be. again, i dont own flight cases, but if someone could clarify this i would also find it very helpful

"Even me?" she said.
I thought, "Oh right, if I categorically eliminate all other people, it's just me and her. She'd like that.
"Especially you" I said.
"You are virtually the ring leader, the way I see it."
Then, I blew out the candle.

yeah, i was thinking about drilling a couple holes for venelation...
seeing how i press on the jog dial alot when scratching and stuff, i would think it would be able to take a little pressure from the foam...

Correct. No foam padding touches the jog.

Mine are made by Road Ready. They even have fans, and cost $99 a piece.

True I suppose...

I'd say just buy any quality ATA rated case and take them out of the case when you spin on em. If it's a permanent installation DEFINETELY take them out of the cases, if you are only using them at parties you take them to to spin on, id leave them in the case during the part, or lift half out as suggested.
