where to buy 2nd hand synths

Hey,

I'm looking for a JP 8000 and the ones on ebay are selling like hotcakes. So i'm wondering if anyone knows of some shops that sell 2nd hand synths? I've heard of Smithy's in Camperdown, but they don't have the synth in stock. Does anyone else know any good shops?

Thanks

i don't want to use ebay because the ones on there are more expensive than the ones in shops (because there is a larger number of people who can make an offer.) TA posters on other threads are saying you can buy one for $500 Australian but all the ones on ebay are more than that. And I can't ask which shops they bought it from cause they aren't from Australia.

Vaid point, keep trying I guess?

But also bearing in mind that if you were selling second hand gear, were would you go to get the best available return for your gear?

Some second hand shops, taking gear on consignment may add a 10% or even 20% fee on top of the selling price.

It's a luck thing. You may walk into a shop and there's your JP for $500, then again, some other peep may find it the day before you do, shrugs, c'est la vie.

You getting prices for gear based on how much overseas people can get it for? Bearing in mind that the number of people and available gear overseas is higher, thus driving costs down.

In saying that I got my JP-8080 for $500, put in contact with a guy.

Also, are you prepared/willing to take the risk of getting one shipped to you from overseas?

The shipping fee (from places like USA and UK) is astronomical - it makes the price really unattractive.
