Evil1 STATE EDM GENRE WHEN POSTING TRACKS!!!

TA PRODUCERS:

just wanted to let people know to state the genre their tracks are in. A lot of people here have preferences (including myself) and don't feel like downloading 20 tracks to find out they're not their style. I think stating the genre will help out with getting comments also.
Seeing a list of 30 tracks without any genre listing does not look inviting, which is one of the main reasons i haven't posted in a while kuz its too damn time consuming.
Sorry for venting but i think it would help out a lot of people.
Cheers. Jer

I don't know what to call mine. Sometimes I call it crap; other times I call it an attempt

Seriously, I get so confused. Even with Ishkur's Guide, I have a hard time determining what my style is.

For those of you not aware of Ishkur's Guide to Electronic Music, here is the link:

sorry guys, i must of explained myself wrong.
I don't mean those people who are putting trance as their genre and it might not be total trance, i mean the people who put the name of the track and thats it. They have no description at all except "full track". Thats all i mean, even if the genre description is vague at least theres some sort of direction for people go by.

hope that clarifies

exactly
idon't think it matters what order anthing is in, aslong as there is some sort of indication of what genre it falls into i think thats fine.

I almost never downloads a track here if the thread is poorly named..
so its just bad for them
I think every track should be named like it has being discussed here

That's it. The italic parts are optional. E.g. I could be posting something like this:

[Prog. Trance] Yarune - Sync Master (Instrumental Mix) 128 kbps sample

The perfect naming

i think there's been a thread on this (it was stickied at one point, don't know if it still is, and too lazy to check)

honestly, i don't see the necessity to really catogorize tracks, though it would be nice for reviewers. I have tried my best to stop assigning a genre to everything i hear cause it's so conforming, tightly bound by rules etc. personally, I think placing tracks in genres is the first step in creating creative boundries for edm producers. the current system seems to work well... too much organization and structure to these boards will make TA... well, boring

just my .02

i understand theres already a sticky but no one is obiding by it. Im not trying to take away ur creativity, just tell people what ur posting. Not putting up a category for ur track isn't going to make ur track sound any better. Trance isn't the only thing on this board anymore so having a genre listed with ur track is a necessity.

fair enough, i guess it can be useful to at least put a short description on what kinda music it is
