cd's
Although I have never spun cd's myself, I don't look at it as true spinning. I don't know why, it just seems like the technological alternative. In my opinion, technology is not always better. I like to feel the record, and move it as I please....

I actually have both vinyl and cdz...
I use the pioneer cdj500s and i love them. i still use vinyl but i started getting more into cdz. I buy cdz as well as well as use burned ones.
Alot of guys I know are slowly getting into cdz, but dont know if they will give up vinyl completely!!!

Spinning (burned) cds maybe is a nice thing cause of:
Good:
You can d/l every song and put it on that cd.. far more cheaper and youll have a wider range of songs to use...
Its compact
youll be progressive
Bad:
It looks lame..
How the hell do you scratch nways with a cd??
Its not realy all that legal to spin with downloaded mp3's (i think, almost know for sure though)
MmmmM thats all i can think of now

You have a good point there. The legal aspect. I only spin a burned cd of a track I havent recieved or bought yet. Maybe its hard to get or the stock was out, but you really want the track because you know its a crowd pleaser...
I went to a rave in NY...and I was surprized when I saw all the djs playing cdz!!! The crowd didnt mind they were just all going along with the vibe!

to me, vinyls will always be there.. regardless of genre..
i've been usin vinyl and cds when i first started playin @ venues.. But.. i've moved away from cds totally..
and to me, vinyls are the past, present and future.. always to be..
i think cds reduce the role of the DJ, the skills, etc..
if u think.. CD players like the Pioneer 500 or 600 .. they're like totally digital.. to me,, djing should b a manual thing... if ya know what i mean... =p..

Crap man! i dont hope trance will get fucked up cause of all the newbie wannabe dj's with their auto cd decks... if it is as easy as someone said..
But at the other hand.. There will probably als be other realy good things about it.. Like in the technical mixing style? Its easier to do stuff.. but you still have to have that feeling as a dj. So.. the crowd gets pleased. And dose it realy matter how they get pleased?? with vinyl or with cd's?? I dont think so.
Aaah well we will see what the future will do to us and the cd's/vinyl

I think they will stick at the vinyl's,it's part of the culture, and how ridicoulous would you look with a dj bag full of cd's?

If u ask me CD'z dont sound anywhere near as good as vinyl in a club, sounds too tinny and trebley... they wont ever replace vinyl, theyre too small and fiddly for a start hehe, uz dj'z like to grip something.
Peace

and some people, when they mix, they get a feel of excitement when crowds react to u spinning vinyls... whereas with CD's i don't think DJ's get that feeling as much..
maybe i'm speaking for myself.. but spinning vinyl is definitely a more personal thing..
cd's.. u might as well program them to play in time..
