i am researching a certain substance that is readily available in most stores. The substance I speak of is 5-htp. I basically want to get psychological feedback from people on this forum who take 5-htp. Please no discussion of the theoretical psychobiological effects in the nervous system...I', already reasearching that. I just want to get psychological perceptions of the supplement

Here are a few questions...if you do take it why do you do so?

Is it b/c of drug (mdma, coca, etc) use and the belief that it replenishes a certain neurotransmitter?

Even if there is no drug use do you still take the supplement?

What are the emotional/psychological effects upon taking the 5-htp supplement?

What is your dosage and what brand of supplement do you use?

I've only taken it to pre-load for rolling or to help the comedown resulting from rolling. That shit is expensive.

I used to take it for depression. My brain wasn't making enough seratonin, so my psychiatrist told me to take it. It never seemed like it did anything, so eventually i quit taking it. Can't remember the dosage, but i think i just took generic gnc. Not entirely positive though.

I take it to boost my serotonin levels because of drug use when I was younger. I find it definitely helps me stave off any depression and helps my sleep patterns. I use the Solal brand.

thats funny, coz most people dont know how to take it for pre-load rolling. ie taking some before you go out isnt gonna do sh1t.

i feel like shit but when i take those i feel better... not depression per say, more like i get a baaaad headache and body aches if i dont take it :/
