What does the scroll lock do?


its the only button on my keyboard i've never found a use for...

i'm not of higher intellect, but i will post in here.

was used when there werent mice.

in old piece of shit apps you could press scroll lock and prevent the text from scrolling up as you typed. once you reached the bottom of the screen, the screen would refresh and you would start typing from the top again. Useless key for a useless idea.

Well its useless now cuz rarely any software supports it. However:

when turned on it pauses text scrolling down the screen.

so some programs can be made to support the key.
