I just realised... wholy crap americans get KRK cheap!
I'd get the Rockit 8's or the Events. Go into the shop and A/B all of them. If u listen to one set for a good 1-2 minutes and get the dude to switch to another straight away, the differences will stand out like a sore thumb even if you have no idea about monitors

You mean under $300 each, or for the pair?
Good luck finding a pair for under $300... I think you're wasting your money if you spend less.
