interesting technique I found

I stumbled across a neat melody trick for those of you having trouble producing outside the box. I came up with a sort of breakbeat/hip hop drum line then took the midi info and moved it to a melody instrument like a piano, then moved the notes around to match the scale of the song. combined with some processing, delay, maybe distortion, you can make really driving and percussive leads. here are a few examples:

example 1

example 2

show us what you can come up with!

Nothing new!
I've been doing that for about 10 years!
I couple of friends of mine who are well known producers who do this and have used that method for many years.

Used to be very quick to do using cubase and/or a GM module.
