Hey guys, been a whiiiile since I've posted something... school's been keeping me busy (recently took MCATs, looking at med schools etc etc). I've been doing all sorts of stuff the past few months, from lounge, to hip hop, to breaks... came back to trance the other day and now I have this:
it's 112kbps, so I'm not really looking for mastering/mixing feedback, I think I've got that bit down, but I don't know how good this is stylistically. Some I've shown love it, others hate it. It's sort of a hodge podge of genres: prog/house, electro, slow drum n bass/amens
Doesn't really sound "signable" cause I think the breakdown is too different... Well, I don't know. You listen and tell me. Suggestions/Comments are welcome.
i agree with the squares, they are not bad but i still think they could be wetter, maybe some delays? filter in and out?
some type of FX automation over them would be good, would really give the song some flavor, maybe another synth on top of it that gives it a contrast with automation of various FX over the current square...
other than that you know its a pimp tune and i think its definetly signable.. theres a label out there for everything... personally id take the voices out of it as i think it would be much more appealable to the labels, at least the dudes voice thats like "ooooooooooooh", or maybe even putting some distortion on it would make it more edgey and give it a more raw feel

man i love it, sounds really original and has got a nice edge to it. The acid sounding sweeps and the launch into the breakdown are really cool, nice work there. Those breaks in the breakdown are frickin awesome, really changes the mood nicely and the bass really comes into its own.
Not nothing much else to say except the mix sounds pretty sweet on my monitors here so keep it up and finish!
Going to download & full review tonight. Can't hear crap on this Mac at work lol

Ahh.. this is totally freaking awesome. These beats remind me of the stuff I tried to do before I started in with the trance. Jealousy ensues.
Theres something new happening all the time it seems, never gets boring/repetative.
2:35 - 3:02 I would have liked to have heard a beefier kick during this section, seems a bit tucked back. It's definately my favorite part
I think the overall quality is fantastic. I also think the sounds you chose work quite well together. The vocals are a bit too pure amidst the edgyness, gonna have to go with TylerM on that one.
Did you get your scores back yet on the MCAT? How'd you do?
