Well, I think you all know I was never into cheesy trance. At least not in producing side but my DJ sets used to be filled with big trance anthems. I don’t know if it’s because of lack of good trance these days or am I just ‘too old for that s**t’ but I’ve found myself getting more and more distant from trance.

Now lets make clear that when I’m talking about trance I’m referring to those 138bpm tunes with big breakdown, snarefill buildups and majestetic superstrings. Few weeks ago I discovered that from the last 200 tracks I bought only 17 were trance and that made me thinking a lot! For me this transformation has been very natural process that happened during last six months.

However it’s heart warming to hear some exceptions once and a while (like ‘Aalto - 5′ or ‘Super8 + Dj Tab - Helsinki Scorching’). But in general I just feel that trance is not evolving much at the moment and it’s really hard to find something original anymore. At least for me all new and interesting can be found from the progressive side of trance, electro and house.

I’ve now working on my second artist album and I can tell it’s going to be lot different from Inwardgaze. If you liked the first half of my debut album, you will most likely love the nest CD even more. Stay tuned!

Taken from Miika Kuisma website, very positive news to say at least. Glad with the direction he's going.

going have to agree with the man though, a lot of creativity is being pumped in 130ish bpm range. Cant say i enjoy his recent productions though they seem lacking.

i disagree, considering it's coming from him & he was never 'cheesy' in the slightest to begin with. his style of trance was epic but had a deeper, darker feel to it, which i loved. i find it a shame he's taking the 'slow route' personally
