Ive been DJin for years with vinyl and recently added serato and am making the move to all digital setup. I have been burning CDs for the past few years because i knew i would be adding CDJ's (pio 800's). Recently i have been using these 'Ridata' CDs from my dads office, i have burned over 100. My buddy is saying that these CDs are not off high enough quality and will mess up in CDj's...im like WTF??

So tell me CDJ owners are there problems with bad quality CDS?
And how do i know the quality of tyhese 'Ridata' CDS??

yes true. i would do that, if i had purchased them already. . I was just wondering if i will have to re-burn these discs. Do you have anything useful to add to your statement??

Not really man. I asked the same question to a dj friend of mine who plays only CD's and he said he never ran into a problem with burning tracks to different types of cd's and playing them in cd turntables. Sure, when you buy big bundles of blank discs you run into the occasional dud, but I don't think there is much more to it then that. You should be fine.

Worst case scenario: You are burning your tracks all over again.

CDJs are usually pretty good about reading cheap media.

+1 (especially pios!)

ive only heard of non-pioneers having consistant problems reading cheap media. also what quality music are you using to burn? typically anything mp3@320 or higher (so 320, wav, flac, etc) will burn great quality cd's...make sure you dont burn faster than 8x or your more prone to get errors in the audio.

I have burned to some pretty cheap cds before and never had problems. And yeah, like you say you are suppose to burn in the lowest possible setting you can. I asked this question like a year ago and thats pretty much the only thing everyone told me.

i burn with cheap cds at 48x. never had a problem.

memorex 52x now thats a rap.

If you use Nero make sure it's not v7

you can use nero v7 , just grab mp3pro.dll from v6 and replace it. problem solved.

Also , newer releases of v7 dont have that problem (well mine dosnt anyhow)
