i'll sell you my old V551 for real cheap if you want it!
I just got an LG Cu500. For the most part I'm satisfied with it but I have a few gripes:
There is no "alarm clock" sound for the alarm. You can only choose from the ringtones on the phone. Fortunately I've been able to download something that will suffice.
When text messaging, sometimes the numbers lag behind when you press them to get to a certain letter. Like say you want to get a 'C' and you press the 1 key 3 times, it will sometimes have a 'B' instead.
No vibrate-then-ring mode. Only ring or vibrate or silent.
No voice dial. I don't use that anyways so I don't care.
Positives:
Great reception.
High quality screen. Good color, etc ... Very much better than my old POS phone.
great speakerphone volume. great call volume in general (much better than motorola)
high quality camera (if you care about that)
built in music player / radio / TV is pretty sweet. has decent internet browsing capability too if you download OperaMini
Any other ?s let me know.

thx for the info the alarm thing dont bother me. The tv thing i like but dont you have to pay a lot extra for that service? Can you change the backround and stuff on it? And music player I read was rather nice. Do you have any other cons other than the ones you mentioned?
There was one forum i read that it beeps for every thing that you do like every menu selection you hit or scroll throuh you get a beep beep beep crap like that. Is that annoying or do you even hear it really?

The TV / radio is generally expensive, but since it's the xmas season when i renewed my contract i got a promotion for unlimited texting and internet through the end of december. otherwise i would not use it, but a kind of cool feature.
and yeah if you dont have the phone on vibrate / silent it makes this noise every time you select to change an option. it really doesnt bother me though, and 99% of the time i have my phone on vibrate so it's not even an issue.

and sometimes it mysteriously doesn't let me call jamie or return her call for days at a time.
fixed.

my old phone (Motorola V551) did that, and i was hoping that my new phone (Samsung C417) would be better about it... but i still have to deal with the lag. guess they can't make phones with buttons fast enough to keep up with people who text all day long!
