Headphones....

Once again, I'm fresh I just picked up DJing, and I'm trying to get the right equipment right off the bat.

What kind of headphones are everyone using? Which are best?
...I don't really care about the price on this one, I'd rather just buy good ones right away and not dick around with second-class stuff.

I'd appreciate any pointers on this.

Thanks!

I upgraded from a pair crap £20 Technics pair to a set of used but mint Pio HDJ1000 from eBay. Some complain about reliability with the plastic swivel tabs being delicate but the difference is amazing, brilliant clarity which makes beatmatching much easier. I would buy another pair without hesitation if mine ever break

Almenatively you might want to check out the top Sony sets or Sennheissers (HD25 if I remember correctly?)

MDR-7506 seem to be the peoples choice, and the industry standard.

Get a pair of yoghurt pots and some string.
Muller pots work well.

Also somewhat popular are the Sennheiser HD-280s, you can get them for $100. I'm in love with mine, had em for about a year - very clear, real comfortable (once they loosen up and adjust to your head) and good bass response. Probably the best part for DJing is the excellent isolation - I can put them on and hear nothing but the cued track, no matter how loud the monitors are. They're also not too flat or harsh so they work well for general listening too.

It does take a while for them to burn in and loosen up, though.
