Airbase - Sinister (incl. Sample)
I personally think this track is pretty damn good. Yes, I know it is not original in its structure and the melody is surely akin to many a trance tune from the past. But despite that, it's no Basshunter or Castles In The Sky either (before you bash those and claim incomparability, think of the popularity and 'cheese' factors). How about being featured on ASOT; Airbase's stuff is not cheesy or mainstream despite many being able to make that diagnosis hastily. Moreover, many people on here (many of whom claim to be trance historians or experts of sorts) claim that some of the best tracks are very simple in production, notation and structure; stuff like PVD's For An Angel or System F's Exhale. Of course, I am not saying Airbase's stuff deserves the same amount of respect or credit those kind of classics do, he isn't breaking any new ground here. However, this track is a perfect example of very purely uplifting, simple yet nice production in the 'classic' trance style that is different from most stuff you hear on ASOT these days. Airbase does what he does very, very well. Nice track. Finally, I think some people may be annoyed with me making this thread but I want to note two things. I couldn't find any thread for this song via the Search feature and I hate when people post threads for songs (or even albums) and don't post samples; so I decided to provide one and will do so in the future for my threads.

* Yes, downsampled, but better than most other shitty 64kbps (and lower) samples you hear that are 30sec long.
** I faded in/out talking, but the whole song is pretty much there.
