Fruity lets you colour all the channels, mixer channels, and arranger channels. You can change the colour of all the automation clips too.
By default everything is grey. Channels are maroon.
The threadstarter took an afternoon out to turn FL Studio into a rainbow. However, the OP neglected to colour the piano roll where fruity gives you a choice of 4 different colours for 4 independant MIDI triggers! Colour, Art and Functionality going hand in hand right there. Boo yeah!
Its actually not a waste of time. Its like writing exam notes in colour. It gives you an immediate indication of where everything is. Like all the centre channels are yellow. Instruments above C5 are red. Bass instruments are blue. etc. etc.
I keep meaning to do this but my projects are all grey and maroon. and I never bother to change the channel names so everything is called something excrutiating like '10 12 06 Soundforge FM test render - kick09.wav.' Navigating my projects is a nightmare for other people. Whereas this guy's project looks like its kind of easy to navigate, which is how it should be. If you work with loads of other people, you should probably take the effort to make your projects look more like the OP.
But you should see my project archive. Nothing is finished but its beautifully arranged, sorted by date order with sub folders for project wavs that are necessary for the flp file to open properly. Project bones are in there too.
Hells yeah.
