I started Djing a while ago and i'm trying to record my first mix but i'm not sure if it sounds good or not so if any one can make a model mix for me to practise on it would be very helpful and thank you for your time if anyones's intrested pm me so i can you the tracklist thank you

Mixing is a unique style that people tend to develop themselves. Your best bet it to do the mix yourself, post it on the DJ Promotion forum and ask for some constructive critisism.

Another idea would be to add a link to your sig to point to the post, so that you make it known wherever you post that the mix is available.

i tried to do that but some songs just don't get into correct transition i beat match n try to lower the base of one dong or increase the trebble to sync but it just doesn't any suggestions?

Track selection is also very important when it comes to mixing. It's always best to be familiar with your songs. LIke you said, some just don't go together. Also, try to listen to mixes done by others. It helped me alot in the beginning. It takes much practice.. In time, you'll be able to tell which song would mix in just right without actually trying it. Keep practicing, practicing, practicing. That's all I can say.

Might be worth posting which tracks you are struggling with? Some tracks can be a pig to get out of. I usually rely on FX

relying in effects or cutting or whatever is never good to mask screw ups. my personal advice:

you only get better as a dj when you PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. you'll soon hit a plateau where its not even an issue getting tracks beatmached and harmonics and eq and whatever aspects you deal with as a dj...it all becomes very natural. so PRACTICE

omg help i've had my decks for a week and i can't mix!!


take your time and practice, then practice some more, then go get a drink then practice some more

when i started i would play for 9 hours a day

djing is learn by doing and a lot of trial & error

you have to develop your ear, no one can help you do that, only you

i've been djing now for about 7 years and i still learn new things every single time i play

Why not try a mix, upload it somewhere and then send the link for people to give their comments?

I do that a lot through my website, get people to send me mixes. Sure, there's a style thing which is very personal, and noone should really make comment on, but things like level and eq control, beat-matching, placement, all that kinda jazz, are all pretty easy to pick up on, and give you pointers.

Just a thought.

definitely record every mix you make too....

and listen to it carefully & youll hear your errors...i listen to mine all the time to analyze how well i did...it's easy to learn just from your own mistakes.

Good advice but what I said about FX was said with tongue in cheek
