Roughly 1,000 troops are located at the base, which the United States began using following the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, primarily in support of U.S. operations in nearby Afghanistan. Kyrgyzstan and the United States have struggled this year to agree on terms for the continued leasing of the base, which took on greater importance last year after Uzbekistan evicted U.S. forces from a base there. Yes, a man in a fuel truck tries to force his way onto an Air Force base wielding a knife. No chance of probable cause/justification there on the part of the serviceman. I mean, I think if a guy driving a truck filled with explosive content wants to force his way onto a military base, we should just let him.

Well then petition the government of Kyrgyzstan to evict them like the government of Uzbekistan did. Until they do, the US bases will be there and they will kill people who brandish knives, guns, RPGs, etc. at base entry checkpoints.

If this same thing happened right here in the US, he'd have been shot, too. You just don't pull weapons on authority figures and expect to go on your merry way.
