Minaya-State of Muzik November 06..Benz and MD, Blake Jarrell, Richard Durand

So its time to close off November properly with a new mix = )

Their was a huge amount of great music that came out recently I almost included too many songs into this mix hehe

To start things off this time around is a very smooth remix by Stefan Anion of Gary Jule's rendition of Mad World. You'll all know this version best from Donnie Darko of course. I edited a bit of the breakdown out because it goes into this weird nu-skool breaks type track and tryed to build up energy for a track that I think works best mellow. Overall a great remix especially considering that the source material gets remixed often but I think this is the first time its been done right.

Into a very nice progressive trance track that I was introduced to when listening to Dj Metatron's Glacial mix (if you havent heard this mix please check it out its worth your time) Benz and MD's Turning The Curve is smooth yet very energetic and I always get a smile on my face when listening to it.

Following is a nice little housey track called Hot 22 I Feel Love. Very well put together track and thought it rolled off of Turning the Curves energy very well and seemed to fit in perfectly. I love house and if you do as well im sure you'll enjoy the disco touch added to this track.

Some may find Leaving London a tad cheezy but I really enjoy this track and love its uplifting feel and vocals. Mainly put in for personal reasons but I feel like a good amount of people will really enjoy the track. = ) Ironically it makes want to visit London and never leave.

Into a great blend of funkiness and progressive trance is Phatjak's Blend. The first time I heard this I couldnt stop dancing and I hope it does the same for everyone else who listens. This will be a song ill be using in my sets for quite some time = )

Noel Sanger and Kenneth Thomas are two amazing producers and got together to create this incredible track with Colleen Riley who also did vocals for Kenneth's Ghost in the Machine which I used in a mix a couple of months back. Colleens voice is always very soothing but this time around its just perfect and you can hear Noel's influence along with Kenneth's blend so well. Overall they created one of my favorite tracks of this past year here <(^^)>

Blake Jarrell's work has been nothing short of impressive lately and this is no exception. This time around he remixed Jose Amnesia's Louder with Jennifer Rene on vocals. Once you hear Jennifer's vocals you'll be sucked in. Although it starts out very calm the song picks up an insane amount of great energy once the breakdown hits and you hear Jennifer's chopped up vocals kick in. It's guaranteed to send shivers up your spine. Great work again from Blake and I expect alot of great things to come for Jennifer.

I decided it was time to get a little harder around this point. Richard Durand is another artist I feel people should keep their eye on. Up their on Tiesto's top 5 list along with Blake he's definitely showing he has talent. His tough kick is just the treatment Lethal Industry needed and I could see this working wonders live. Dont mind the lengthy breakdown its all worth it once things pick up = )

Keeping along the lines of more techy tracks I followed with Divini & Warnings remix of Roy Gates Midnight Sun. Its just a crazy plethora of tech sounds and basslines. An extremely fun song that I know will keep the energy going well.

At this point it felt proper to finally get into some melodic trance and I had just the perfect song for it. A mashup and remix of Solid Globe's Sahara and North Pole done by none other then Alex M.O.R.P.H. The track's play off each other unbelievably well and Alex's touch is all over with huge synth lines and a great kick. A very fine trance song I only wish Sahara was more apparent in the track.

Into another great trance track. If you dont Giuseppe Ottaviani is half of Nu Nrg who is responsible for many great songs that Paul van Dyk loves playing. Giuseppe has been flying solo lately and doing an amazing job. This time around Thomas Bronzwaer is on remix duties here and really added alot of great energy to an already great track. The track has a great old feel to it but its still very fresh and invigorating.

After coming off such high energy I wanted something very mellow to end things off. You might remember Colorblind from Cruel Intentions which is where I best know it from. I re-discovered the song after visiting a friends myspace. Its a really beautiful song and I have alot of memories attached to it and found it proper to end things off with this.

Thats it for now I really hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed mixing it = ) (Link in the title as usual!)

Great mix man, as always. I've said it before but yeah, your style is really up my alley. The intro song threw me a bit because I actually used that mix in the intro of one of my mixes! Well not exactly the first track but almost. It was one of my favorite mix that I had done. Great track. And Turning the Curve after that I had used in my latest, heh. I had no problem hearing these great tracks again in a unique way. After that is the very housey track which is a bold move but works well imo. Then it's another of my favorite tracks, Leaving London. I see what you were doing with this but imo, it didn't transition too well.

After that is a great selection of new tracks to me and some familiar ones. the mix progresses into fast and techy stuff pretty quickly. I thought the transition into Lethal Industry was a bit abrupt, but other than that it was done very well. Nice outro track, actually worked interestingly well, and I'm not really a Counting Crows fan( doesn't seem like the same singer).

Thanks again. Cheers for the mix.
